I just want to know if mine was disqualified for some reason. I didn't receive anything for entering, but I don't see how I violated any rules of the contest either... Who do I contact about this? I couldn't find any information on the contest page.

Well, I guess it gives me some comfort that I'm not the only one affected. I lost track of the number of hours it took me to draw my idea to spec in all six views, and that was with tracing paper! I can accept not winning (there were likely plenty of artists more talented than me who entered). But, if I had been disqualified for a minor discrepancy in one of the views, that would just make everything feel like a waste of time. Almost like I should have simply used a modeling program from step 1; started with a cube, spliced it a few times, extruded a few faces, and polished it up to come up with one more gigantic, fully textured, space gun with rocket boosters and been able to call it a night. There were some really good digitally created designs submitted that make the use of pencil and paper seem cartoonish.

To be brutaly honest, I wouldn't have picked your entry, but on the other hand, some of the semi-finalists are a lot worse.
Over LA Battlecruiser? I definitely would have picked your entry!!! (over a few of the others as well!)

I could have sworn that when I originally signed up for this, somewhere it was stated that people who entered successfully who were players of eve would receive some special in-game gift. Now I can't find anything to support this memory I have. :/ It only makes sense that there is something for those people who have absolutely no use for a limited trial download key.

It'd be interesting to have a contest voting system where the community can like or dislike each entry submitted (only one vote per), and each of those votes having a weight of V/N, where V = number of entries viewed/voted on, and N being the total number of entries in the contest. It would at least encourage people to look at more of the entries than just skimming through. Basically, a weighted approval voting system of picking a winner. So, if you legitimately love 100 designs, you don't have to mull over it at all! We'd be able to see an accurate picture of the "best" designs instead of just the most popular/visible.
I doubt we'll get a democracy with this though :P Setting up a system to do so would be time consuming, unless one exists already where the entries can easily be imported from DA.
If I programmed for DA instead of where I do now, that would be implemented ASAP.

well, you can bet i'm going to model and render my ideas for any future contests, since without that precious seventh view, nobody visualizes your ship.
edit:
I would still like an in-game item for busting my ass to submit a valid, serious entry, and i'm pretty sure every other eve player who spent similar time would like something other than a completely useless 30-day trial code.
